Is the annotation in the drawing standard-compliant (ASME)?
Can a datum be established from a pattern?
The answer is unequivocally yes!
In this case, the four holes constrain six degrees of freedom.
The rest of the features must maintain its location and orientation relative to restraint given by the four holes with a diameter of 20.
Does this choice of Daum reflect the design intent?
Is this a good design?
It is impossible to determine without seeing the rest of the system and understanding the functional requirements…
